Aviemore is an ideal all-year-round holiday location. There are holiday activities to suit many interests and hobbies. The centre of Aviemore, with its many facilities, is about a 10 minute walk or a few minutes by car. There is a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars, doctor and dentist, entertainment, laundry and tourist information. At the Coylumbridge hotel in Rothiemurchus non-residents can make use of the superb Cyril Squirrel's childrens play barn.

Golf
there are many golf courses within a short distance including the 9 hole course at Dalfaber Golf and Country Club (200 yards away), Boat of Garten and Grantown-on-Spey.

Sailing
sailing is available on Loch Morlich and Loch Insch.

Walking
the area is suitable for walkers of any standard from walks through forest trails to climbing on the Cairngorms.

Cycling
Aviemore is ideal for cycling. Roads are generally quiet and there is an abundance of off-road tracks and forest trails. Bring your own cycle or hire in Aviemore or Rothiemurchus.

Bird Watching
visit the Osprey at Boat of Garten.

Steam Railway
travel on the Strathspey steam railway between Aviemore and Boat of Garten.

Fishing
try the trout farm, The Spey or other local rivers and lochs.

Historical Sites
visit the battlefield at Culloden, the historic Ruthven barracks, Loch Ness and many others.

Dolphins
sail with the dolphins on the Morray Firth at Inverness or just watch them race in with the tide.

Skiing
ski on the Cairngorms in the winter or take the chairlift to the top in the summer.
